Shona Schultz, Manual Osteopathic Therapist
Shona Schultz MOT, uses principles of Osteopathic Therapy to look at the body as a whole unit that is capable of self regulation and self healing. it is based on the understanding of the basic principles of body, unity, self regulation, and interrelationship of structure and function.
Manual Osteopathic Therapy encompassed five elements of the structure and function of the human body. Osteoarticulation looks at the structure and function of the skeletal system. Myofascial remodeling involves the multi layered connective tissue that stabilizes, holds, and connects bones, blood vessels, muscles, organs, and skin to the body.
Cranial Sacral therapy involves the movement of the cranial sacral fluid in and around the nervous system, using a light touch to relieve tension and promote the movement of fluid. Manual lymphatic drainage encourages the flow of lymphatic fluid through the vessels to the lymphatic nodes and ducts. Visceral manipulation is a specific technique to improve the fascial attachments of the viscera (Organs).
MOT aims to restore the body’s self healing capacity by decreasing the effects of the chronic body stresses and enhancing the immune system.
